A fleeting spark

Ember to flame

You left me charred

I’ve you to blame

/

That free form fall

That jazz horns frame

Just like the autumn leaves.

/

But on the sunset coast

Where palm trees sway

The only things that fall

Are sun and waves,

/

And the sunset doesn’t make a splash

As day fades

Just like the autumn leaves.
